SAR K2P or B6PC?
« on: January 03, 2015, 02:37:16 AM »
Hey-o everyone! I was looking around at these two pistols and noticed that they seem extremely similar (on paper at least). What are the major differences between these two pistols? Personally I like the look of the forward cocking serrations on the K2P.

On a side-note. I was originally looking at a witness polymer carry, until I saw it was more expensive than getting a new CZ P07.

Should I get one of the budget CZ's or save up another few weeks and snag a new P07?

Welcome tothe Forum!

All reviews I read about both the BP6 and the K2P are very good. As for the P07, ergonomics are great. You could look for a used model since it takes about 500 rou ds to break in.

Both of these pistols are poly framed guns . The B6P compact holds 14 rounds and the Sar K2P comes with a 17 round mag, but will take any Cz 16 ,17 18 0r 19 round mags can do double duty carry or house gun because it has a rail for a light or laser, I have mine setup for a light. I own both pistols the Sar K2P is the better choice with easily available CZ Mecgar aftermarket cheap and reliable mags  available from Greg Cote LLC. The sar is slightly larger with a fullsize grip with a 3.8 inch barrel and a better stock trigger system.

Nothing at all wrong with the B6PC but I chose the SAR K2P and I carried mine all of last Winter 2013/2014.  You can read my review of it here: http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=55769.msg433060#msg433060

I had the same problem... I bought both. The B6PC is a little easier to conceal thanks to the shorter grip. The K2P shoots nicer and has a rail. It's become the nightstand gun. I'm also being very tempted by the 07... if it goes on sale somewhere for a good price I might create a little more debt for myself. Bottom line is you won't go wrong with any of them. Good luck.

I like the design of the dust cover on the K2P's frame better. The B6P frame is prone to warping in the area of the slide lock spring.

Only other major difference is the slide. The K2P is a breech block design. B6P has traditional 'Browning-style' internal lugs.

The K2 has the ambi safety and adjustable back sight.  But I like the B6P because it doesn't have a rail. Just a personal preference.  The slides are interchangeable.

That is disappointing to know that the Sar B6PC does not accept CZ mags. Does the Witness Poly Compact accept CZ mags?

Hey there, my b6pc takes the 13round EAA witness compact mags fine. You can find them for $20 on cdnnsports.com. Lightly sanding the base plate on each mag helps but they will seat with a good smack without the sanding.

And my B6PC will use the same magazines as my SP-01 (18 round).  They stick out at the bottom but for range use they are fine.

Just me, but I think the Tanfoglio compact is better built.  I have the B6P as well as the Tanfo, ...nothing specific, but the Tanfo is slightly better.  Major parts all seem to interchange between the two brands.  Great value, which ever brand you get.

Well...........If you look a little closer, you'll see mine has a Hogue Handall Grip Sleeve installed.
You can find one of those, install it, and you too, will have finger grooves on your SAR K2P!  ;)

Ah OK, I saw the sleeve but assumed the finger grooves were under that, makes sense now.

I just ordered the K2P 9mm yesterday. Caught it on sale for $265 from GAG. I researched for a long time and actually narrowed  my choices down to the B6P and K2P. I am on a tight budget so after reading all the good reviews on both, it came down to $$ and when I saw that price on the K2P, I pulled the trigger. No pun intended there :) I am looking forward to receiving it.
