P09 Slide Stop Difficult?

  I just picked up a P09 threaded model today.  For those of you who own a P09/07, are the slide stops that much more difficult to remove in the polymer models?  This isn't my first CZ (75BD, PCR, and SP01) and I am fairly familiar with their guns, but this thing is REALLY staying in there.  Before I go to more extreme measures I was just curious.

The stops on both my 07 & 09 are NEVER going to fall out on there own. One of the edges on your mag base plate works well and it is always with you. You just need to get it started on it's way out, after that it should pull out without much effort.

Had the same experience. When it's new, it's stiff. That will change over time. Shoot it, dry fire it, and work the slide. Over time and more field strips, it will loosen up and be easier to manipulate. I had to remind myself of how my other CZs felt when they were new. It's a good thing. Loose and sloppy is usually inversely related to accuracy.

I just grab it in my left hand, put the hammer on half cock, with my thumb wrapped around the backstrap I pull the slide to the rear with my fingers till it contacts the hammer and then use the corner of the magazine to push the slide stop to the point where the corner of the magazine touches the frame and won't push the slide stop anymore.

Then I keep holding the slide in contact with the hammer and pull the slide stop out.

Seems to work pretty well for me.

Yep....That's how all my others have been.  This one is much much stiffer than they ever were.  I've used the mag base.  No go.  I've used a wooden dowel.  Nope.  Before I went with a punch and a vice, I just wanted to check.

BBB: You surely already know this and are doing it, but make sure to pull the slide back a little before you punch out the slide stop.

sometimes there are marks on the slide to show you, but if you push it back about  a quarter inch or so to the half-cocked hammer, that should make it easier to push the slide stop out without all that pressure on it.

It is a brand new gun.  Just brought it home.

Then you know a lot more than I do. Maybe it is just a tight fit and will loosen up with lots of shooting, dissassembly and cleaning.

Just out of curiosity, when you sandbag it or benchrest the pistol for accuracy testing, do you find this particular pistol to be a bit more accurate than your other pistols? If everything fits as snug as your slidestop, you may have a CZ that shoots tighter groups than other CZ's. That would be great.

My 09 I had and the 07 I currently have are both tight fits.  Tighter than my other CZ's.  I think the tightness is normal.

Yeah, My P-07 fits together without any daylight between parts. It is difficult to dissassemble but it shoots great; accurate, no problems feeding, not even once. I think that the slide stop being difficult to push out is just inherent to the design and manufacture of the gun. As the parts become more worn, it should eventually get easier.

Speaking of that, I think I'll go shoot it some more in the backyard

Punch + Hammer + daughter's extra hand.  Popped right out.  Looks like any other slide stop.  No burrs, no anything.  Just a tight fit.

I used to have to tap mine with a hammer to get it to move. But after a few hundred rounds I found I could just tap it once and then push it out, so it is easier now that it used to be (or maybe I'm less awkward).

Hope yours loosens up enough that you don't have to grow a third hand every time you dissassemble it.
