Night Sight Question
« on: May 12, 2006, 05:10:50 PM »
Are the sights from P-01-SP-01 interchangeable? I much prefer the nite sites that came on my P-01 to the white dot sites that came on my SP-01. Can the nite sites be ordered from CZ USA ?      Thanks.     Jim

The P-01 is a compact, and the SP-01 is a full-size gun.  They have the same dovetails, but you might find that sight heights for the front sights change slightly between the two models.

(I've used CZ full-size gun sights on a CZ compact without problem, but most sight makers make separate sights for the compacts, so they seem to think there's something different.)

You can also do what a number of us do -- recolor the factory white dots with flourescent model paint.  That makes them MUCH more visible.  You can make them larger, in the process, if you want.

I just may try painting the white dots. Good idea ! I don't think I'll make them larger, though. They are almost too big now(IMHO) and when I look down range, the bulls-eye almost disappears. Thanks for the tip and tech.    Jim

I've used a combination of flourescent paint, and find that a light green (made from a lot of white flourescent, with a touch of green and yellow) works best for me.  But you can have front and rear different, etc.

Testor's makes a kit of five colors for about $5, available in most hobby shops.

Apply it with a toothpick.
