Thank you for another great CGW parts install run down BDG. I gained a few great tips form this one. I really need to get around to my 97BD and this is a good motivator to do so.

Bookmarked.

After seeing the bench block in your photo's, I knew it was time to get one. The roll of masking tape I used for the CGW P01 just doesn't have the same utility. The stud on the Wheeler BB that holds the 3mm socket was a cool adaptation. I thought the block might flip with the force required to slightly compress the main spring but it stayed put, cool feature... even if it is intended for a different job on a 1911.

One of the steps not photographed was the polishing of the FPB; which I did not do on the SP01 or P01 because it was not needed.
The FPB on the 97BD had an uneven factory coating on it and it did not plunge smoothly and would even hang up on the sides of the hole when I pushed it with the punch. I polished the FPB and it now glides smoothly with no hang ups. I did not experience any issues with FTF when testing the pistol  but it looked and felt like a potential trouble spot.

Now I'm back to step #1...
1. Buy CZ
2. Shoot CZ
3. Cajunize CZ
4. Thoroughly enjoy upgraded CZ
5. Repeat steps 1 thru 4

Thank you for sharing all the details and pictures. To me, taking pics while doing these tasks is a major pain.
Looking forward to further updates, including trigger break values.

On both of my steel CZ's I've skipped step 2.  I bought a 75B several years ago at a local gun shop, tried the trigger, fired off a few rounds just to make sure everything worked kinda, put the gun back in the box and waited a week for the CGW stuff to arrive and installed it all before ever shooting the gun seriously.  This was all after spending a little time on this forum before buying a CZ.  The P-09 factory trigger was actually pretty good, and CGW was still working on parts but hadn't released them yet, so I DID shoot the P-09 a bunch before installing the CGW parts.  On the 97 received yesterday, I had never even held one or shot one before placing an order and getting CGW to install the "E" bushing and all the CGW parts.  This one is going to the range from the box with out anything other than installing a red dot sight.  If it doesn't run, it's all David's fault.  If it runs well, then I guess it's David's fault.  If I don't like it after shooting it, I wasted a lot of money!

Either way, this is fun.

Thanks Coolbox, your right, photos add a lot of time to the project. but, it's worth it.
I posted the trigger pull weights in the opening and closing sentences of the post with the work photos.

BDG,

I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to produce and post this topic.  I have been scouring the Internet for a tutorial on this subject and this is to date, the only resource I've found so far.  Thank you.

How have the upgrades treated you thus far?

Dr Sick,

Thank you for your kind words.
The performance of the 97 continues to be stellar.
If you're considering the CGW Pro Package, you won't be disappointed.

I did the same thing with the bench block. Tired of trying to half ass it. BDG should get royalties. Thanks for the great write up

Damgato,
Thank you for your kind words.
Unfortunately, all those royalties would have to go to all the other members who gave their knowledge for me to use.
Thanks again.

Are the photos really "no longer available" or do I need to figure out some sort of setting issue on my computer?

Great photos and info. Don't know if I would ever attempt to do something as detailed as that with my 80 year old hands but it gave me an idea of how the parts function. As I said the photos are impressive. I just my leave my 97B stock.
