Original Sling Data Learning Curve

I am partial to the light colored Czech VZ58 slings.  I have a used one (know where any state side NOS ones might be?!)...  Is there a site which interprets the markings on these?  Are the light ones earlier?

The baby diarrhea, mustard, tan slings are the earlier generation and canvas.

The green nylon or poly slings are the later generation.

They also pop up on ebay and gunbroker, and you can probably find them on the Czech websites...

Forgot about those -- best guess is that those were consumer/police production.  Military were tan or green insofar as I'm aware.

It's listed as a VZ 26 sling, but it's the same one that came with most of the VZ 2008 rifles.  Four and six dollars for good and near-new.  I got one of the six-dollar ones and it's excellent.  The color you get may be luck of the draw.

If you call their phone line during business hours, a recording will give you a code for $4.95 off shipping.  I also believe that every Wednesday there's another shipping code on their Facebook page.

The one I got was in new-old-stock condition and identical to the two slings I got with my VZ 2008's.  Over the years Numrich has been very good with sending correct parts, but I think that once or twice I got something of equivalent quality and style.

You're welcome.  I get a lot of small parts from Numrich as I need them since shipping is usually what kills buying small parts one at a time.  They send it cheaply by US Post and I'm sure that the profit margins on small parts are huge (over the long run) as they were probably bought 100, 200, or 1,000 at a time for the fraction of sale price.  Good for both customer and vendor.

Got my sling from Numrich and was surprised it was much more worn and dirty than I expected for being rated excellent.  Maybe they pulled out of the wrong pile but I would call it good at best.  If I had paid for shipping I would send it back and tell them try again, but for $6 shipped can't complain too much.
