VZ 2008 Receivers
« on: February 04, 2015, 03:46:31 PM »
After doing a lot of internet searching and a few phone calls I want to share some information I found out about some of the receivers.

Paragon Manufacturing (a five star Company) has been providing superior service and quality machined parts for multiple industries including aerospace and defense. Century Arms contracted Paragon to make their VZ2008 receivers.  For the VZ2008 receivers they Start with the best possible grade of steel (4140) and properly heat treat. On both of my rifles the machining looks to be top notch. After searching the internet, I have never read one bad review about the VZ2008 receiver.

I don't that we can say that Paragon made all of the receivers.

See this thread: http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=62802.60

But B&R Machine of Ludlow Mass is marked on one of my rifles, so the Paragon may be a 4th receiver version as I just posted in that thread -- but since they're all working off of the same CNC Machining/CAD drawings, I don't suspect much if any difference between the various makers (some of the markings/engravings/stampings on the receiver appear to be applied differently however)...  But I don't know who makes the 3rd gen in that thread which seem to constitute the 4th and largest batch.  Assuming due to no name and different serial markings it's someone else...

I  agree, I have two from century arms and one from czechpoint. I feel that they all are of excellent quality. I plan on buying the new czechpoint vz58 compact pistol... They look amazing.

Nubia, is the 'new' pistol the same as the 'old' pistol?  Have they come out with a newer version?

After searching the internet, I have never read one bad review about the VZ2008 receiver.

Nice find.  Are all the latest receivers from them?  The CNC machine work is actually very nice I must agree, however on the one lemon rifle (with a bad trigger reset and bad bayo lug) that I received from PSA, the receiver coating was not done very well along the top left side.  Who does the coating? Does CAI get the receivers "white" and coat them?

The post above is opinion, and I am probably totally wrong, so please pardon me if I offend anyone in any way. I am speaking only for myself and just sharing my thoughts, not trying to start an argument with anyone, and if you disagree with anything I have said, I concede your correct.
