P-09 Durability - Will It Hold Up?

CGW built a P-09 for professional shooter Mike Pannone about a year ago.  In case you are not familiar with Mike, he trains Law Enforcement, FBI, and many others.  He can have any sidearm he wants from anyone, for free.  Everyone wants Mike to use their pistol. 

Mike sent us his stock P-09 for a Pro-Grade package and it has become his main running and training weapon.  It has fired many tens of thousands of rounds and Mike says the trigger pulls are still the same.  Not one broken or worn out part.  So the P-09 is one tough CZ.

I am wondering why is likes the P-09 over the SP-01.   

P-09 with a Pro-Grade is on my wish list.

Interesting, good reference. That P-09 has some presence. Mine looks like a school girl compared to it.  ;D

Maybe he doesn't want the weight of the Sp-01. That is the reason I do not own one. I have a P-09 fully Cajunized and it is one hell of a shooter.

The weight (or competitive lack thereof) of the P09 is a big plus for me over all-steel CZs. I'll hopefully own a Shadow (for games) and a P01 or a PCR for EDC, but I'm looking forward to being able to carry a full-capacity pistol at work at the local range. Knowing I'm not carrying a fragile range toy is what pushed me to adding it to my carry rotation.

That is beautiful!!! 

Not a valid test, however.  Looks like he might have actually cleaned it occasionally.  But it doesn't look like it is over-oiled, LOL. 

I only have 9k rounds through my original one.  I have a backup that maybe has 200 rounds through it.  Maybe I should turn loose of it.  Don't need a backup.

That is simply awesome! I am so glad I took David's advice and picked up a CGW P09 as my last SSE in 2014. This thing is fast and super accurate.

Single Shot Exsepmtion. Its California nonsense. It was a way to acquire pistols that are not on the California safe handgun roster.

Wow! Nice to know I have a lot of mileage and beatings of this pistol ahead of me! Talk about ridden hard and put away dry . . .

I think it's a natural for IDPA and other competitive use as well as a great HD/SD pistol. Very flexible and high quality.

Appreciate you sharing that information with us. I have the P09, and while I will never go to the extremes Mike has, I am kinda overwhelmed at the quality of the P09. I wanted the black P09, but the dealer that ordered one for me could only find the FDE model, which I am glad for now.

It does not feel as large as it appears, and for my small hands the grip is just excellent, of course CZ used length instead of width to gain the high capacity in this model, and the result is a grip everyone can use.

I really want another CZ, but this one makes me happy. I can carry it Concealed, without any problems, and it is not overly heavy. You just have to use a more aggressive cant in your holster as so the grip won't print.
