For furniture, you're ahead to buy furniture over kits. The used wood stuff I've seen is in very rough condition as is the stock hardware (the stock plates and whatnot are thinner aluminum than the magazines)...
For casual plinking or occasional plinking you're probably going to be fine as well as for a safe queen or display gun. For rapid fire and/or full auto, the wood won't work out on the upper foregrip...
The most reliable route for partial wood is a wood stock and lower handguard plus an NEA upper handguard rail. You could also do their lower too and just the stock in wood. Aesthetically, that looks good as well. But I do definitely prefer the NEA upper rail on its own vs bonesteel's...
