CZ-100 Won't Cock
« on: February 12, 2015, 01:58:36 PM »
Went to the range today with a pal, who produced a CZ-100 from his range bag. I didn't even know he owned the thing. Anyway, he got it all loaded up and the trigger has zero resistance. The used gun is fairly new to him, but he fired it once about 6 months ago. Only other handling was slide removal for cleaning. He did not do any dis-assembly, other than the standard slide removal. The gun is as clean as new, and is very low mileage. It looks brand new.

This is a striker-fired gun, and the first I've ever seen. At first I thought the mag tripped a mechanism and he simply had the wrong mag, but he just has the one mag and no other handguns. Very strange.

Any guidance highly appreciated.

Found it! Silly little spring popped off the bottom of the connector bar while he was wiping the inside with a cleaning cloth. Popped it back into place and the thing is working again.

I told my buddy that you don't want a gun as your primary weapon that you can defeat that easily. Sell it, or buy a new primary weapon.

Very True! I would suspect that is among one of the reasons it has not had much commercial or military success.
Wonder if this problem was fixed in the "B" series.

If the spring is in place then it stays in place. So I might not call it a "problem", it's more like an "issue". Unless of course some BG is coming at you and your spring is not resident.

One for the catalog, though.
