Holster for SP01
« on: August 19, 2005, 07:52:00 AM »
I just got my DOH from Bladetech for the SP01.  The holster does not cover the trigger guard.  I emailed BladeTech and they were not aware that the SP01 is larger than the P01.

I was wanting to know which holsters are you all using.  I really like the Bladetech designs.  Do you think the CZ 75 holster will work?  I guess Matt and Angus are just using the Ghost Holster which might be my next option.

Thanks for any advice.

David

They do make a DOH holster for the SP01 as I do have one..other than that there is not a whole bunch out there yet..

other than that..I have taken a comp-tac holster for a CZ and using a heat gun remolded it to fit my SPO1..

Does your holster cover the trigger guard?  I received an email from the Product Development Manager and he said that he had not heard of the SP01 and was going to get in touch with Angus to try and get a gun to make a mold.  I  selected the SP01 from the list but when they shipped it to me it said P01 and it did not cover the trigger guard.

I'm a little confused now.  At first, I thought they just sent me the wrong model.  My invoice says SP01 but according to them, they do not have a mold for the SP01.

That is confusing...

my holster cover the triggerguard and fit my gun perfectly..it came from Bladetech..my understanding was that Angus did send them a gun to make the mold..but do not remember where I heard that...

On a whim, I bought a Decocker SP-01 from a local store for $459, brand new (they had 2 of them), I am still waiting for my DA/SA manual safety SP-01 from Angus.  I bought the decocker for a handgun class I was taking.

Anyways, I found that a Fobus kydex holster for a Glock 21 fits just about perfect.  I've been using it for weeks and it only cost me $19.  I plan to get a Blade-tech sometime in the future for my manual safety SP-01, and I plan to sell the SP-01 decocker.

So, if you just need a holster to get by, a Fobus Glock 21 works just about perfect.  It's so cheap that it's almost disposable.

Thanks for the info hartzpad.  I might go ahead and get the Fobus and check back with blade-tech in a few months.
