Is the SP-01 and SP-01 Tactical available in the U.S.?  Who has them and how much are they running?

Shawn

The next small batch will be hitting the streets within a month or two. Price: $525 (with night sights) plus shipping & transfer; it will be available with lots of factory options for additional cost (i.e. a fiber optic front sight or special competition hammer).  Right now, the exclusive dealer is Ghostholster.com.

Its future depends on the rules. Right now, the rules have been changed back so that its legal until Jan 1 2006.

There will be a vote at the 2005 World Pistol Shooting championship later this summer in Equador.

You may not shoot IPSC or shoot competitively at all, but the fact is that the future of the SP-01 will likely depend on how the IPSC General Assembly votes. If the SP-01 is banned by IPSC, I doubt CZ will continue to produce it.

Thanks for the info.  So, the pistol would have to be ordered through Ghostholster?  No other shop will be carrying them?

Curious, what do the IPSC rules have to do with whether or not this pistol ships to the U.S. or remains in production?  I'm not interested in using it for competition.  I am not sure why they would cease production because of IPSC rules.

Thanks,
Shawn

Leatherneck:

You are exactly correct - it has NOTHING to do with the production of the SP01 or its importation or sale.  It has only to do with this thread:

p201.ezboard.com/fczechpi...=973.topic

Yes, it is confusing to those who do not shoot in these specific competitions.  But, the politics of shooting sports are interesting.

The continued production of the SP01 may depend on if it's allowed in IPSC.  Right now they're allowing it to be used in IPSC competition, but it will be voted on later.  If they vote it out, there is a chance that CZ will retool the SP01 to meet ISPC approval.  That's what everyone is talking about.

But I don't think anyone believes it will STOP production.  Right?
