New CZ-75 Retro Range Report...
« on: March 10, 2015, 02:10:21 PM »
Took my new CZ-75 Retro out to the range today for it's 'first run'...
What's to say, it's a CZ!!... 150-rnds (three types ammo) flawless shoot, ZERO problems.
Pistola is very accurate, like all my other CZs... with that large, heavy-metal feel... love it!
Trigger is excellent, sights alittle small but...
Didn't like the stock aluminum-grips, so switched to rubber... great feel, great grip.
Been trying to get a Pre-B for awhile, no luck... so the Retro found a home.
Love the round trigger-guard and the spur hammer... Very Happy!!

Nice pistol, I find myself wanting one. Have you tried it in a holster? Was wondering if it would fit a standard 75B holster.

Thanks for the report. Glad to hear.
My Retro shipped (finally!) from Bud's yesterday, so hope to be out there before weeks end.

I have one on lay-away at Bud's too.  What didn't you like about the retro grips?

It was purely a 'looks' thing... not crazy about the design.
Rubber grips feel 'thicker' and for my large mits, give the pistola a nice feel.

The design is a great design!  Slide in frame is the tightest fit for the accuracy! Slide on frame will loosen up and accuracy goes away! I love my CZ pistols! Have two and a 75bd on layaway at buds! My CZ out shoots my sig 226 and glock 34! I want a retro next!

I enjoy my RETRO quite a bit. I actually prefer the flat aluminum grips. I bought a set of the VZ Frag grips for my 85 and sanded them down to a similar contour as the RETRO grips. They're quite nice!
Czech it out!

If they only made it with a decocker.....I like the rounded trigger guard also.

Yep... for me, a Decocker, along with the rounded trigger-guard and spur-hammer, would make it a PERFECT CZ... but two-out-of-three ain't bad!!

Yours looks almost perfect! :)  I too like the rounded trigger guard and spur hammer, but would've preferred 1) the forward portion of the frame hadn't been modified, 2) the name RETRO that looks to be electro-penciled not be there, and lastly 3) the the old style grips be plastic and not aluminum, or that it simply ship with the regular, checkered plastic, grips.

Congratulations!

Nice CZ. I too greatly prefer the rounded trigger guard. While I like the short frame it would of been so much cooler if they would of matched up the slide to have produced a true retro short frame. Glad to hear it performs as good as it looks, though we would of been surprised if it didn't. I have a 2004 vintage retro B and it's an excellent performer with the beloved rounded guard. Good luck.

That thing just looks so wrong to me.  It's like they tried to reproduce the original short rail model and gave up halfway through.
