My New CZ 75 B Matte Stainless Pistol
« on: March 10, 2015, 09:05:45 PM »
Here's a crappy cellphone photo of my new CZ 75 B Matte Stainless pistol which I picked up a couple of weeks ago now. After my first trip to the range with it (which went very well), I replaced the stock plastic guide rod with a stock length stainless steel one from CZC. I also replaced the stock front sight with a Dawson fiber optic front sight and swapped out the stock rubber grips for a Hogue rubber finger groove one piece grip. I initially tried a set of VZ black tactical diamond grips which I really liked the look of, but, unfortunately, they were just too thin for my hands. I think the Hogue grip is butt ugly, but it does fit my hand well. Oh, well!   8)

Very nice. I've got the same model. Replacing the front sight as easy as simply switching the new one for the old one?

Thanks!

Yes. The front sight is very easy to replace, but I did have to give the sides of the sight a couple of swipes with a file to get it started. Also, you would normally have to drill a hole in the new sight for the front sight roll pin, but I bought a pre-drilled sight from Cajun Gun Works which eliminated the need for me to drill the hole.

You tap out the roll pin with a roll pin punch, tap out the stock sight, tap in the new sight, tap the roll pin back in place, and you're done. It took me about 5 minutes to do the swap. If you don't buy a pre-drilled sight, you'll, of course, have to drill a hole in the sight once it is in place.

That's the one, Alex.

Probably not, Alex, unless I find a set of grips somewhere along the line that I like better than the Hogues I'm using now.

FINALLY found some new grips for my CZ pistol that I'm totally happy with! They are CZ Custom's aluminum arched grips. They're comfortable, fill my hand nicely, and give me a good, solid grip with zero discomfort.   8)

Congrats. You will love that gun for ever . Guaranteed. I have the exact same model . I converted mine to SA only , but it was more for fun rather than need. It was great out of the box. Replacing the front sight to optic fibre was a must though. I got all parts from CZCUSTOM . CZ's forever . If only our laws allow for unlimited slots on the licence , I would own all of them ( finances permitting ).

Hi XTrooper ,

yes I read somewhere that   Longshanks was the nickname for  Edward I   and from what I read he was one big A&&-hole.

However I got the name from the Lord Of The Rings Character.

Re the Grips, those are the 'Lemon Graters' from CZCUSTOM , they had only one defect in my opinion. The edges were not smoothed out ( like the ones you have )  so the checkering carried on till the very edge. If your finger pad happends to rest on that edge it could get 'grated' pretty soon in a shooting session. I ended up filing the edges of the left grip a bit cause they were tearing up my fingers. This obviosuly removed the black anodized colour, but it helped.

When someone asks for an all-rounder, relaible, all-steel gun I immediately suggest a plain jane CZ75 . Can't go wrong . Ever.

Well, your pistol looks fantastic and I wholeheartedly agree; it's tough to beat the CZ 75.

P.S.- I think that IS the general opinion of Edward I.    ;D
