P-09 Slide
« on: March 13, 2015, 10:37:58 AM »
Got my new P-09 and CGW goodies to install. Notice the raised portion on the underside of the slide, the part that pushes down the hammer and pushes the round into the chamber, is not polished. As it is on my P-01 and 75b.
On this gun it is black and shows copper "fouling" on the forward portion, I am assuming from sliding over the rounds in the magazine.
Anyhow, my question is should this section be polished?

No, it isn't polished in the P-09.  Mine always has a little brass dust on it, even after nearly 10k rounds.  I just checked it.

Correct. Not polished from CZ. I polished mine, but didn't seem to change anything. Have at it if you like. I did notice that it is not flat as it is on the 75's. It has a contour which seems odd to me. The front half (or so) is ramped an angles down, if that makes sense.

Thanks guy so I will save some time by not polishing it :) Special thanks to Joe for the videos.
I was thinking the forward end of the rib is tapered for less drag over the rounds in the magazine.
