The Omega trigger: How easy is "easy"?
« on: April 26, 2015, 02:57:25 PM »
The CZ-USA catalog tells me:
"The Omega features a simpler, more robust version of the 75's trigger system.  The interlocking design of the trigger mechanism's parts allows for easy disassembly and reassembly without the need for tools, so taking the pistol down beyond a basic fieldstrip is much easier than on a standard 75."

My (Omega) Instruction Manual makes no mention of this operation.  Following the section on 'Stripping for cleaning',
it warns me--

"CAUTION":
No further disassembly of your pistol is recommended.  Should your pistol require adjustment or repair be sure the task is entrusted to a competent gunsmith!"

So which is it:
a)  "easy" or
b)  requires the services of a gunsmith?

WTF?  How hard can it be??

Would someone please enter a link to a site that will explain exactly how this is done?
thx

I watched a detailed disassembly of a 75B and it certainly looked more complicated than a detailed disassembly of my 75B Omega, which was very close to my P-07 which also uses the Omega trigger system.  I disassembled both guns despite these being the very first firearms I fully disassembled.

Here's a video of the 75B disassembly:

It's a disclaimer. They would rather you not do it then screw it up because they said it was "simpler".

If you do a search Joe l has a video for you to check out.

I have both and have had both apart.  The Omega is much easier.

JoeL has some good videos showing disassembly and reassembly of the Omega.  I can take my P-09 and P-07 completely down (fire control group) in less than five minutes.

He didn't create a video clip with that section being disassembled, but the 2 videos I linked above should provide some info.

And here's Joe L's video:

Un-possible. That gun is way too clean to be Joe L's.

 :) :)

I gotta do a slide disassembly and trigger swap video soon, I guess, to complete the videos for the P series guns.  Next time I clean it.  May be mid summer.

Thanks, Joe.
I can wait for that Omega trigger.
Going on what CZ said about the O in their catalog, I was expecting the "trigger group" to come out
as a unit, like an M-14 or a Garand ("...without the need of tools"!).  ::)
