Non-English marked CZ75's ?
« on: May 17, 2015, 09:12:38 AM »
I buddy of mine picked up a early pre B CZ75. It has the usual "Model 75" and " Made in Czechoslovakia" on the slide and frame. We got to wondering if there were ever CZ75's produced with non-English markings. I know it was made to be an export pistol, but did they all have this English text on them ? What about when it was adopted by the Czech police ? Couldn't find any examples online of non-English text pistols. -Thanks

Great question. I believe it was not adopted by the police until after the end of the communist era. In any event, the current police ones are standard P01s replacing the full frame since 2002. Aside from possibly presentation models, the one with some non-English text on it that comes to mind is the Cold War Commemorative version with Cyrillic alphabet (not part of the Czech alphabet). Others will chime in.
What year is your friend's pre B? We love to see photos of pre-Bs.
Edit - ocny17 has the Cold War Commemorative edition posted.
