I dont fool with either as ammo seems like its not as readily available as other calibers.

According to both my LGS's. They claimed they were getting their normal shipments of 22 cal ammo. but due to hoarding, that was the shortage cause. Everyone  in my area has 22 cal ammo in stock now. For some reason, ( due to increased production from what I'm told.)  about January of this year, it made a huge comeback. And  the shops say they are ordering and selling more than ever before.  I don't think te profit margin was all that big on 22 rimfire either. So that may have also contributed. The price on popular caliber pistol ammo has almost doubled since 2008.  45apc, 44, 357, 38, 380 prices were just flat out gouging ridiculous for the past several years. But recently has started to drop again.

I love .22 mag but it is expensive.  I have a mid 70s Winchester 9422M that I used to use to hunt jackrabbits in the desert.  It's a great rifle in a great hunting cartridge.  I've never been able to find a left hand CZ bolt rifle in .22 mag but if I did I'd likely pick it up.

I also have a NAA mini revolver in .22 mag.

Ive been getting CCI in all the various bullet types for $10 a box when buying a case of 20 boxes.  I know 2 years ago during the big ammo shortage they we upwards of $17 a box.  But I had long before stocked up. In late January or early Febuary this year, they started showing up on the shelves again and cases became available again, so I grabbed a few more.  Because it is mainly a hunting round for me and not so much for plinking, I don't find the ammo price to bad. Not for what its capable of.

It is the only barrel I do not own for my 455.  I plan to buy a 22 mag barrel someday.

I picked up 452 American 22mag at a show last year , first 22 mag rifle I have had in many years and it was a pleasure to own and shoot one again . decided to buy it since cz wont apparently chamber for the 17 super mag , now if they would put a nice 22 bullet in the super mag rimfire you would have a better 22 hornet in my opinion :)
