Hey all, looking at x2 mag pouches to a make bullets out set up. Cant decide between the ghost 360 and racer. I've held both of them, I know the positives and negatives about them.... I JUST CAN'T DECIDE!! Help

I'm not going to be any help to you because I use the Ghost with my CZ (Prod div), the aluminum DAA Racemasters with my 2011 (Limited div), and the plastic DAA Racers with my 1911 (SS div).  I run bullets out on all three.

If I had to do it again, I'd probably go with the DAA Racers for the CZ.  Main rationale is because the belt hangers on the Ghosts are pretty wide, which means they are spread out on the belt.  Five mag pouches (for Prod div) starting behind the hipbone extend pretty far around my back even though I have them set as close to one another as possible.  The DAA's can be spaced a little closer together due to the design of the belt hanger.

Either one is a good pouch, and I've come to like mag pouches that apply tension fore-and-aft with a torsion leaf that gives a a cleaner release than side to side tension which can bind on you.

Thanks!

The belt hangers are the one thing pushing me away from the ghosts. They are WIDE! I'm a 36 waist so real estate isn't at a huge premium but it is important. I do like the price and leaf spring tension of the ghosts. Now the racers are a tad more expensive, but I like how you can place them closer together and with their finer adjustability I can set my rig exactly how I want, not how the gear determines it. I don't care too much for DAAs tensioning.

If I could get the leaf spring on the DAAs I'd have them already!

My DAA's have a leaf spring and a wheel tensioner.  Are we talking about the same mag pouches?

I tried both, went with the Racers, returned the Ghosts.  I have a small waist compared to most of the guys on the range, and they take less real estate on my belt. I liked the construction better as well. I went to the hardware store for a different, smaller head thumb screw to run them bullets out without drilling and still be able to run the tensioner.

What size screw did you get to not drill into the front of the pouch?

I have used the Ghosts and now have the Racers.  Racers are just a nicer pouch in my opinion.  The bolts that they have to connect to the mount are for a countersunk hole and just didn't work well for the bullets out configuration, so I went to the hardware store and picked up these style bolts. http://www.lowes.com/pd_423554-37672-884555_1z0vrdq__?productId=3903366&pl=1.  Just got the M5 bolt and with a long ball end Allen wrench you don't need to drill the hole in the pouch.  You will have to grind down the diameter of the head to not interfere with the tension wheel.

It was a bit more work, but worth it.  I hated the mounts on the Ghosts and occasionally I would jam my thumb hard on the mounts and it would hurt like hell for several days after.  No problems with that on the Racers.

YMMV, just an A class shooter who recently switched to the CZ.

Nice setup.  Those are some interesting grips!
