new tristar p120
« on: June 02, 2015, 10:16:38 AM »

Picked this up for $374 OTD. Having read nothing but good things about them, I figured at that price why not. First impressions are this is a very nice, well built pistol. Off to the range in a few to see what it will do. The P01 below it Ive had for quite some time. Ive done some minor work on it with CGW parts and it is a most excellent firearm. Waiting on my CGW springs and pins for the P120 to arrive and a new set of grips very soon.

I just picked up a new P120 from my local FFL, to go with my P-01, T100 and Witness .45.
Now that the waters have receded and we've had a good week of sunshine, I plan on taking the "family" out to the range this weekend.  8)

Fired 200 rounds through it, 115 gr fmj, 50 each of PMC, Federal, Freedom Munitions and Speer Lawman. I wish I could tell you something that hasnt already been said about the P120, but I cant.  It ran flawlessly, is quite accurate and recoil is almost nonexistant. The DA trigger is substantial and Im not a fan of the grips, but my CGW springs should be arriving today and I have grips ordered, so both of those "problems" will be fixed. Obviously, I want to run more ammo through it but my initial impression is that its a heck of a nice pistol, and at $374 I might buy another for my dad. Its a steal at its current price point.

I've had my P120 for about a year. Great gun! I added the CGW spring kit, sight kit and a set of CZ wood grips. Trigger is quite good just over 3 lbs. I also got an extra MecGar 19 round mag (great mags!).

I have a had a bit of finish wear on the rails. Not a big deal though. This gun always goes to the range with me!
