The few I checked look pretty worn externally. There seem to be about forty listed there right now: "380", with "Cal. 9 Browning" on the slides.
A single seller has the vast majority of them. The only drawback for an 83 vs. 82 I can see is that prices for .380 ammo reportedly jumped much higher than 9x18 Mak during the last panic. Despite this, with two Makarovs (B, EG), I recently bought a Russian Mak in .380. Diversity can be good.
A different 83 seller on GB stated that his gun was used by either Israeli police or corrections officers. The Israelis must have confidence in the guns they operate. A recent handgun purchase is the 82 (9x18 Mak.), my first Czech gun.
