My CZ-50 works great
« on: June 09, 2015, 04:07:25 AM »
No great, deep thoughts, I just want to say my new relic cz-50 works great. Took it to the range and pumped a box of .32 fmj through it without event. I'm not even all that experienced.

Now, I don't know individual experiences, of course, but some derogatory remarks I have read around the internet are straight out of a mid 80s game called twilight 2000. (A great game, I played it myself that's how I remember it) It is a work of fiction. Though remarkably in depth, its rather impressive database of firearms is geared toward gameplay.

I found recoil quite manageable, although I'm used to a .357.   Action smooth, and cleanup easy.

That's all. My two bits.

Was it stuff about the .32ACP being "underpowered" and an "unreliable man-stopper" etc.?

I love my CZ 70. Just had magazine issues. Using Sellier and Bellot FMJ. Ordered some Wolff Springs, but no eta on shipping. May order some NOS mags from Poland and see if they work better.

That, too. I've heard people say nonsense like 32s bouncing off of people's clothes. Stop fighting Superman and that won't happen.  ;D

I wouldn't want to get shot by one. I love my CZ70. I have had no issues with it at all. Fired JHP & FMJ through it. Don't remember what brands. No problems. I plan to carry it as soon as my background check clears. I've read some bad things about them as well. I guess I got a good one. Its somewhat tight. Meaning the slide works a little harder than some nib guns. Yeah the mag release is tight & the mag doesn't shoot out into your hand when released. Not a big deal to me. Maybe to other people I guess. I think its a great little pistol. So fun to shoot. Anyway, My two cents.

It won't knock anyone on their derriere but, as Heath1 states, I wouldn't want to get shot by one.  I picked up a NIB CZ70 (serial number 703XXX) about six months ago and have shot about 50 rounds .32 ACP FMJ  through it with no problems.

I have a 70 and I love it.  Easy to control and my trigger has been improved.  No qualms about using it in the house if need be cause a couple walls and shingles and siding will keep the shot out of my neighbor's kid's bedroom.  Yes it is less powerful than my 9 but at twenty five feet I can pick the nostril.

My complaint is that 32 ACP is so expensive.  Reload, for sure.  Federal Hydroshock won't go deep so load every other round a FMJ.

Most 50's & 70's have loose tolerances in their barrels, so all ammo shouldn't be a problem.

And that is what my problem is. Magazines.
And some may have heard that a PP magazine will work.  It will NOT.
So, I have three crap magazines that the rounds nose dive/spring issues?
And one newly purchased PP magazine that will not work.

I got a total porken on mine.  ::)

Almost forgot, both my mags worked fine fully loaded with 8. Maybe try 6 or 7 to keep the top round from nosing down as an experiment.
