Early 27 markings
« on: June 09, 2015, 11:25:25 AM »
I finally acquired my first early CZ 27 and have some questions about it if anyone can help.  Serial number is in the 19,000 range.  I know it's not completely original as someone tried to chrome the firing pin retainer and didn't do a very good job of it and it's flaking off.  It has a milled side plate with screw but no serial number on the side plate.  The barrel has no serial number but does have the indexing notch at the top.  The barrel is German nitro proofed and German Army accepted.  The oddest thing to me is other than the barrel the pistol has no proof marks Czech or German on it.  Other than the firing pin retainer the patina on the rest of the pistol looks consistent.  If anyone has any thoughts on it or a similar pistol I'd appreciate hearing from you.
