Thanks coolbox. I've also seen a lot of your post.  Very insightful.  Parts should be in tomorrow.  What's "to low" of a SA?  I would imagine you wouldn't want to be under 2?

Trigger weight is personal preference.
For a IDPA/IPSC type match, below 3 lbs is already getting lower for most shooters. I prefer 2.5 lbs for precision shooting, and 2.5-3 lbs for IDPA.

I just did some more reading and I'm pretty sure I've been measuring from the lowest point of my trigger with the lyman... Should I be measuring from the middle of the trigger?

JMO:    Not trying to be 'funny' when I say,  "where your trigger finger reach and comfort zone is best" with a proper placement on the trigger.
JoeL finds inside the first crease for "Bullseye" single hand shooting is best for "him".  Most Action Shooters advocate ON the first joint pad will give the best speed and results.  The length of your TF may change the placement spot on the trigger with either method.
Whatever method results in the" minimum front sight movement" at the rate of fire you need for your chosen venue (s).

What the best "leverage" shows on the meter,  may not be what YOU get when firing the pistol -- or it may---depending on what works best for you.

This may not not be the "accepted" way to measure trigger pull.  It's my way with my hand and trigger finger length..

Interesting 1sow... Just wasn't sure if there is a correct spot for measuring purposes.  So there's a common grounds or control for consistency as well as comparing with other people.  Cause if everyone measures at a different spot then it's hard to compare and contrast. For ex a 2.5 lb may be acceptable but if you measure it at the end of the trigger it might be a 2#

You could get a Tanfoglio sear spring. It has one extra coil of spring (4 vs 3 coils for CZ sear spring IIRC), and should give you added weight in the SA trigger pull, without drastic effects on the DA. The 13# main spring would push the DA to about 7 lbs plus. I have to admit, I have the tanfoglio sear spring, but have not tried it yet to note down the difference with stock CZ.

Coolbox, I did not know the Tanfoglio sear spring was stronger good information. I may have to try this on my wifes RAMI.

I think it is all relative as far as someone's trigger weight being too light, purpose as well as taste. Some like a heavy weight for carry guns purposes, and at the other end I have a competition style air pistol that when I bought it, the trigger was set at 11 oz! That was too light for even me and I like a light crisp trigger.

So everything came in except for the sear (ordered it a day later)... I put in the new hammer and an 8.5 hammer spring.  The SA is much more crisp and pretty much the same weight!!!!  Absolutely love it... Best of all the manual safety still works with the original sear. Here's some pics

Now here's my final question... Should I be fine with factory federal ammo?  Does the factory federal still use the federal primers that ignite so easily? (Sorry if that's a dumb question)

I was referring to values from the middle of the trigger, geometrical mid point. In our club, that is where the weight is checked from. I myself note 3 values
-bottom of trigger, lowest point near trigger guard
-geometrical mid point of trigger
-trigger finger position: around 3/4 towards the bottom for most of my pistols in my hands.

My pistols are about 1 lb 12oz to 2 lbs 4oz at lowest point.

Thanks coolbox, my last weights that I posted were at the middle of the trigger. Really happy how it turned out.  Wish I would have contributed and took pictures along the way.  But everything I did was from other members great threads so it's nothing new.  So glad I went with the Cz sp01 shadow over the M&P pro.  Thanks for all the help guys. Can't wait to start reloading down the road!
