I'll get that stuff ordered. Should i bother with the 18# recoil spring or just continue to use the stock 20# spring on the CGW SS guide rod?

If the gun's running fine with the 20lb spring, it's up to you if you want to keep running that. I'm using the 15lb spring in my P-09, but I'm not shooting defense loads or any +p stuff, just target ammo.

Personally, I would give it enough break in time with the 20lb recoil spring along with some of your chosen defensive ammo and see if you like it in that configuration.

I use 135gn Critical Duty in mine, not the +P loads.  Eats them up just fine. ;)

Thanks to everyone for answering my questions. I need to place an order for some CGW stuff.

I'll update the thread when i hear back from CZ USA about the guide rod material. I'm curious to hear back about that...

To me, the stock recoil spring on the P-09 seems to work fine.  It's easy enough to rack.

My P-07 on the other hand, was a bit stiff.

I got an answer from CZ USA concerning the guide rod material.

"There is no standard on the P-09 sometimes they put a steel and sometimes they put a plastic depending on when they make a gun.  Thank you"

In other news... I sold my Glock 19 today and ordered a P 07. I think i have CZ fever.

Anyone know if the stock 20# on the P-07 will cycle light target ammo once it is broken in?  Mine new would not eat Fiocchi 115g... but I only tried 50 rds and did not have stronger ammo at the time... had extraction failures on almost all of them

I have a P-07 ordered so i will let you know how the stock spring works in mine. If it gives me trouble i will get a CGW SS rod and try their 15# recoil spring i have.

^Yes!

Comparing my Duty P-07(12k rounds+) versus my P-09(1k rounds) with similar CGW and CZC upgrades, the P-07 DA is lighter, smoother and breaks nicely. No manual polishing, just plain ol shooting and dry fire.

I agree but the P-09 is so much nicer with a lighter RC spring. Brass isn't ejected too much further.

Picked up my P-07 and ran a box of aluminum cased. 115Gr federals thru it with no issues. The ejection was a little erratic though. And it is WAY harder to rack than the P-09. I am waiting on a SS guide rod so i can try my 15# CGW recoil spring.

Polymer guide rod.  I just picked up my new p09 and it has a polymer rod. Kind of disappointed.  I talked to CZ and they said there is absolutely no need to worry about it and it functions flawlessly without any breaks reported and it is also covered under the 5 yr Warranty in case anything were to happen . They told me that it actually creates less wear on the components it touches. I think that there is a reason why the polymer repalcements are 1/3 of the SS price and 1/2 thhe steel ones. They can say what they want but I just think it is a cheap out on an otherwise great product.  I don't like it cause it is soooooo light and flimsy so I just ordered a SSG on amazon for 34.99 free shipping. It will definitely be heavier and I want any added weight to the front as possible without overdoing it. SS is also heavier than the hollow steel so it's a winner. Can't wait to put it in and get shootin!

My P-09 has a steel guide rod assembly. But is it hollow...how can I tell? And would a solid SS rod make much of an improvement?
