Bry .356" 130gr RN
« on: July 31, 2015, 01:21:38 AM »
Just wondering if anyone has loaded the 9mm BRY 130 RN bullet with any good results.

At 129/130 PF using n320 they were OK but nothing to get excited about.
I've still got about 300-400 to play with,  and that's what I'll be doing with n320.  I don't plan to buy more,  just load and shoot these over a chrono at first and then for some range fun 'til they're gone. :)

It's primarily intended for the .38 Super, and that's where I use it.  It's an excellent bullet for that caliber, but I've never run it in 9x19.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Fred.  Curious:  how long is your 9 super barrel?  What chrono speeds did you record.  :)

I have several .38 Super handguns, 1SOW.  I've got a 1911, a fullsize Witness, a compact Witness and a Witness Elite Match.

I don't push them real hard, since I was going for accuracy.  Out of the fullsize Witness, loading with 9.4 grains of Accurate AA-7, they chronograph at an average of 1,084 fps.  With that load, I can shoot one ragged hole at 15 yards, standing two handed hold, unsupported.  The 18 shot group was just a little over 1", but it was slow fire.

Another load I use with that bullet is 9.7 grains of Blue Dot, for a velocity of 1,270 fps out of the same gun.  It's nearly as accurate as the AA-7 load, but with a little more recoil, but not bad at all.

Hope this helps.

My thought was to increase the velocity a little and 1070-1080 is do-able for a test.  I'll test in a few steps.  I don't think AA#5 or n320 will work so n340 it is.
Thanks Fred.
