Range Report - CZ75B SA 40cal
« on: October 23, 2002, 04:35:38 PM »
Traded for an unfired 75B SA in 40cal earlier this week and took it to the range this morning. Put 130rds of S&B 180gr TMJ thru it with no malfunctions. Didn't measure groups but accuracy appeared very good. Recoil was sharper in this pistol than expected for an all steel gun of its weight. More recoil than my Glock 23C by a wide margin. Trigger was great however I have concerns about the poly trigger life after reading about problems here on the forum. Loaded the mags and pistol with 10+1 and reliability was 100%. This is something you can't do with many Glock 10rd mags. All in all I am pleased.

Congrats on your new SA. I know you will really enjoy it. Mine, has quickly become my favorite pistol.

I ran a box of 50 American Eagle 180 grain through my new SA and at 15 yards off the bench, perfect functioning and no 5 shot groups more than 1", with one group at .7"...  Very nice and I hope my reloads shoot as well.

...that your reloads will do MUCH better.  If the 9mm CZs are a good indicator for the .40 versions, don't be afraid to work near the hotter end of the safe spectrum.  The 9mms love higher pressure ammo.  Work loads up for safety, but don't be afraid to try the hotter ones.  I wasted a lot of time with my 9mms trying to make various "start loads" in different powders shoot well.
