And if you don't trust electronics there's always the dual illuminated RMR.

Dual is the only RMR I'd ever own. Customers have reported more RMR failures to us than any other optic, and I'm 100% serious. Don't think since it costs the most it's the best - it's not.

that is interesting to know.
any other insights on the various optic brands?
Not really anything more than I've said in previous threads and/or on other forums.
FF III. - Best out there for the money. Simply can't be touched for ~$250-$275. Most last many thousands of rounds +. If yours happens to die, Burris has no problem replacing them, no questions asked.
DP Gen 1 - Solid optic, be careful with the tiny torx screws stripping as it is a very common issue.
DP Pro - TANKS. The most solid optic I've personally had in hand and used by far. They haven't been out long, but I have heard of only one customer of ours having an issue with one out of probably about 30-40ish or so we've milled so far since they've been out.
RMR - I have nothing specifically against them, other than people have the misconception that since they're made by Trijicon, they're gods gift to reflex sights. And that's just wrong. They fail as much (more in our experience from reports) than the rest. Maybe it's just that they're more popular so naturally we will hear of them failing more, I don't know.
Various C-More's - Same stuff you hear from everyone. Hit and miss. Some seem to be unkillable, some crap out quickly.
The rest out there, we haven't milled very many, nor do I have a lot of experience with them to comment.

Can't wait to get my FF3 and Slide back from Primary Machine. I am a USPSA competitor and shoot as often as possible. I started with the FF3 on a springer mount. Worked superbly. Mount was very nice and rock solid. Sight had about 8k rounds down range with zero issues. I sighted the pistol in exactly once and have been dead on ever since. I decided to have the slide milled just to drop the FF3 down that last little bit, mostly for aesthetics.
I have been shooting Carry Optics for a few months and absolutely love it. I have also carried my P-09 concealed this winter with the dot and found it to be totally do able.

Got the slide back. Blown Away!  Awesome work Bruce. The color is wild. It is darker that it shows on camera. More of a blood red. But it depends on the lighting, indoors or out. Mill work is flawless. You will get my repeat business. Thanks.

Who ordered the cocking serration platter?

P-07 slide we milled for a Vortex Venom and milled front cocking serrations, then finished in phosphate. (Slide still has a bit of extra oil on it from after phosphate process.)
I have to say, these serrations are much more usable than the ones that come on the late model P series guns on the angled portion of the slide.

Battery life for Burris FF3 3 moa
« Reply #147 on: May 19, 2016, 09:45:08 AM »
I have a question about battery life on a carry gun.  I have accidentally left the red dot on for few days with apparently very little battery drain.  Do you guys who carry with a red dot just leave it on all the time?  If so, how long will the battery left with the sight set on auto brightness?

I just moved one of mine to the P-07.  Videos later.

  • I've shot the rest, I now own the best - CZ
I just bought a Delta Point Pro.  Supposedly (haven't tried it yet) you can set it so it turns on when moved, turns itself off when it hasn't moved for a few minutes.  That would be great for a gun you take off and lay on the table by the bed at night.

We'll see.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

I just leave my RM06 on all the time. Been on for months. Just for safety sake I change it every 6 months.
