For those unaware, there's a new USPSA division sort of going through trial phase to determine participation levels, etc.

This division was made because Glock, S&W, and Springfield basically told USPSA they weren't going to support the league on the same level they were in the past because essentially their guns aren't as competitive as the CZ's and Tanfoglio's. So since USPSA likes their money they made this new Carry Optic division with a 35oz weight limit thinking they would now be competitive since just about all the all steel guns can't make weight...

Now the Glock/S&W/XD guys are still pissed because they have figured out the CZ P-07 and P-09 are going to dominate the class due to the triggers being leaps and bounds better than any striker fired guns trigger could be. This might be the reason I buy another P-07 or 09 and jump into USPSA.

About 34oz with the magwell. Took the magwell off so it should be even lighter. Will be interesting since I've never done red dot at a match.

Nice. I'm at 31oz but that's with some slide lightening. I'll buy another one if I decide to shoot this division and just mill for a red dot only.

I saw the Power Factor Show's video about it a while back but hadn't read much about it yet.  I think an Optic Ready P-09 would be quite stellar in this division!

Do you by chance have a link to some discussion?  I'm assuming Enos would be the place of discussion...

Do you know if the scoring system is ready? I might try to do it this weekend.

You can enter any new division in practiscore.  Not sure if USPSA site is updated yet though for official uploading.

P-09 is the backup plan, working on a 85 combat to make weight.

I would think making weight with the 85c is totally doable.

They  (http://www.uspsa.org/index.php) say they'll be posting possible Carry Optics rules on their site 'when they think them up'. ::)

Would like to see milling a slide or adding dovetail adapters as 'legal' updates for pistols that might "otherwise" qualify for the Carry Optics class.
Which pistols qualify is just one question of the bazillion likely to be asked.
