Are the machine mark song grip.  To improve grip?
I've cleaned mine once.... I wonder how much longer until I HAVE to clean it

I just got a holster so mine doesn't have any "character"... yet!

That is a happy gun!!!

Hi Guys,

Why do people buy guns? The reasons are unlimited. The way I look at it is if a gun is beat up it shows that it has been used. Guns are tools and if used correctly will get beat up as they should be. I think your gun looks great. Keep it up.

Mistyped. Meant not cleaning my gun. Sorry. By the way, the last 350 rounds I put thru my SP01, have not been cleaned out, and I don't plan on doing so until....... I don't know when.

Depends on the ammo/powder used.

Some will go quite a long time without cleaning, others not--at least the feed ramp/chamber.  Keep it lubed.

I've tried that "don't clean it" idea and I couldn't do it. I guess serving in the USMC for 20 years is to blame. I don't clean a gun near as much or as detailed as I once did but if I put a box of rounds through one, I have to field strip it, wipe it down, punch the bore, and lubricate it. If I don't do that I can't go to sleep at night. Marine Corps gave me OCD! :o

Likewise. After serving 20 years in the U.S. Army I'd go nuts if I did  not clean my weapons after firing them.

I wasn't in the military but I have a similar attitude. I can't sleep if my weapons aren't cleaned after the use.
The way I see it - it is my respect to human engineering genius and workmanship, and partially to my hard earned money. Yes, my weapons are but tools, but they are fine tools, complicated tools. The least I can do - my being unable to create such tools myself - is to take good care of them.

We were trained to take care of your weapons and other equipment first and THEN take care of yourself.

I clean mine after about 700 to a 1000 rounds. I lube the critical areas after every match. If I use my pistol when it's sandy, wet or really humid, it gets cleaned as soon as possible, especially the magazines and the mag well. Those areas seem to rust faster. I shot the NC Sectional this weekend on Friday and worked as RO Saturday and Sunday. I did a quick wipe down Friday night and didn't look at it again until this morning. Rust had already occurred inside and out of the magazines and inside the mag well. You never know when the crud will cause a failure and I really don't want to find out at the wrong time. My pistol seems to actually run better after about 200 rounds and starts showing some degradation in performance around 800 - 1000.

I used to be obsessive about cleaning my guns every time I shot them, but now I clean them after 700-1000 rounds except under really harsh conditions. This just change occurred about two years ago after watching others who never seemed to clean their firearms.

With my game gun, I can go 500 rounds before I get a failure and have to clean. I think it has to do with using lanolin for case lube. It builds up in the chamber enough to cause issues. One of my efforts to reduce the number of petro/synthetic products I use for cleaning and lubing.

With my carry, that gets cleaned or at least a wipe down/re-oil regardless of round count. It is amazing the amount of lint it can accumulate.

I was having that same problem. I started running my loaded rounds back through the tumbler.
