Used P-01 Pricing question?
« on: August 23, 2015, 09:32:21 PM »
So I made that all too common mistake of selling both my steel and alloy framed 75 Compacts last year to fund other projects, and while I still have my 75B it doesn't get carried much. I came across a pretty nice P-01 for $399 at a big name outdoors store that had picked up a big lot of CZ pistols. It needs some love but more importantly it needs mags! I know I can get compact mags and I have some full size mags that I had setup as extended mags for my compacts.

It's going to get sent to CGW or CZCustom so I'd like to save where I can,

Should I hold out and see if they will come down on the price? I know the store will not get mags for it in so I'm hoping that will scare off most buyers.

Without seeing it, I think $399 is a good price. Big box stores aren't likely to drop their prices. They can afford to sit on it until someone comes along to buy it. If it comes with 0 mags, offer them $300 & go from there

This sounds like one of the surplus CZ's that have come into the country lately.

Does it only have one mag with it and probably no box?

I did tell make the offer of $300, the sales associate said I would have to talk to his manager but he wasn't in at the time.  I'm going to stop by in a few days. Also no box or magazines included.

Yep, sounds like one of the surplus guns.  They were selling on GB awhile back for around $350 with one mag.

Going to stop by today and talk to them. Not sure I can swing the money right now but I may put it on layaway.

I dunno about 400 given new with warranty and two mags is like 550 ... 300 sure sounds good.

Talked to the sales manager today best price is $330. Going to put it on layaway and have my LGS sell a Ruger single six I don't shoot to cover the cost.  I think I'm going to send it to Dave at CGW for his defensive package and a two tone finish.

I'd be interested in seeing yours once you pick it up. I bought one from the Lansing store a few months ago just after they got them. The Lansing store from what I was told was the ones who went and picked up the lot (300 pistols) so I think they kind of cherry picked them. I bought a Conpact D with a rail. It was made in 2000 and is kind of different. It is a P-01 frame with the PCR slide. How mine looks now:

Hey Matt, Same store and I think you got the best of the lot!

The one I picked up had the soft rubber style grips and lanyard ring main spring plug. I've got to wait a couple of weeks to pick it up but I'll let you know when I do. We'll have to go out to the range and compare. You don't happen to be a member of the Looking Glass Sportsman's Club out in Lainsburg?
