Switched brands from S&B to Fiocchi
« on: October 12, 2007, 08:54:45 AM »
I have been an S&B fan a long time.  But, after shooting the gun for several years, I suddenly noticed some emptys had a bulge in the brass just forward of the case head.  The problem occurred intermittently with the 73gr load.  My inquiry to CZ Kansas City about the problem received a quick reply--Don't worry about it.  OK, I won't, but the Fiocchi 73gr ammo was not bulging.  Even the scorching hot 60 gr hollow points did not show any bulge.  Maybe some tiny difference in OAL or something.  Or more likely the Fiocchi head extends further up the case inside than the S&B.  In any event, I don't think it's a quality issue, just some quirk.  btw, the USA brands that I detailed how poorly they fit in CZ guns did not show any bulging either.  Has anyone else noticed bulged brass in the 32/7.65?  I can't see where a new spring would help as this is the lightest caliber they make and I assume it has the same spring as the 380 or Mak.
