New P?07 Failure to Eject Every Round
« on: September 01, 2015, 09:35:41 PM »
Does anyone know how I might be able to fix this myself? The gun chambers and fires but the spent casing stays in the breech face area. Sometimes it's a stovepipe and other times the casing stays lined up with the bore. This is a brand-new pistol. I'm using 124 grain Fiocchi full metal jacket.  I'm getting to the end of two cases that I bought and it is quality ammon that functions reliably in every other 9 mm that I own.

I called CZ ? USA and their customer service guy said I needed to fill out their online warranty repair request form. I sent the form and they promptly issued a return authorization but have not issued a FedEx return label. I called and asked about the label and they said they'd be issuing one  but I still haven't got it In two days now.  It is a pain in the ass to ship a pistol without a FedEx label and so I am looking into how I might be able to fix this myself. Maybe replace the ejector? If it's a simple fix I would rather just do it myself.

Sorry to hear.
Ok, silly questions, sorry, gotta ask[emoji6]. Have you given it a thorough cleaning and relube?
Made sure nothing stuck behind the extractor claw?
    Tried different ammo?

These guns are HEAVILY sprung from the factory for nato spec ammo.

For standard practice ammo and lighter US loads, many of us run a lighter recoil spring and guide rod from CGW.

Stock is #20. I run a #15 in mine. A #18 is available as well.

You may try a few full power defense loads first as well, although expensive to waste!

I left you a reply on arfcom.

I see you've found the CZ forum and been given advice on the Cajun Gun Works springs.

Good luck.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

First things I'd try:

- Hotter ammo
- Go down on recoil spring weight.

The P-07 and 09 both have 20lb springs from the factory, which is certainly overkill for target loads. I'd buy an 18lb spring from Cajun Gun Works if I were you. Part 18RS. I bet it would fix your problem.
These P series guns are sprung high because in Europe, those guys generally shoot hotter ammo than we do here in the states.

Wow. Heavy recoil spring or not, I don't think that should be happening. Not after 100 rounds. I would try a few different brands of ammo. Have you taken it apart and cleaned? Make sure the recoil spring isn't somehow binding up in there? Will they extract by manually racking the gun? Can you drop a round in the chamber and does it spin freely and drop out freely? Sorry for throwing all this at you, but you should not have to replace your recoil spring just to make it run right, unless CZ put the wrong one in.

Try different ammo. Cleaned out the factory's oils and grease from shipping? Both mine ran fine on WWB. With every new pistol I get, I intentionally try to induce failures. I limp wristed this thing until it almost flew out my hands with no FTE.

ps, if you haven't already, check your spam folder for the fedex label.  I just had to return a ruger rifle, and that's where mine went.

I think I have a similar situation.  I picked up a bunch of Perfecta ammo at Wal Mart.  It functions fine in my P-09 but I think I can tell there are some variations in the powder loads.

I went out last night and ran a couple of mags through my P-07.  I had more FTE's than I've ever had.  I think it's like most everyone  else here is saying, they're sprung a little too heavy for weaker ammo.  Also, it was spitting the empties somewhat more erratically than usual.

I've never had a problem with the American Eagle stuff.  I'm going to pick up a 15 pound recoil spring soon.  I've cut a few coils off my stock spring which helped but it's still a lot stiffer to rack than my P-09 or my 75B.
Lighten that recoil spring.

I have been running the crap out of that Perfecta without issue in several guns. And the brass I manage to find seems to reload as well as anything else as well. At the price of steel, it is like getting free brass!

Yeah, I've been really happy with it until I ran it in my P-07.  For the price, I'll keep buying it.  Will just reserve it for my P-09 until I get my 15# recoil spring.

Someone in another forum mentioned something about new black P-07 springs that solve this problem.  Does anybody know more about this?

I think the 15# recoil spring would make the problem go away.

Thanks for the replies. The slide is noticeably difficult to rack even for a CZ with minimal slide area to grasp. I does feel over sprung. I also noticed that the top of the ejector rubs the inside of the slide. Is this normal???? I think that added friction resistance would contribute to slowing the slide movement down. Add that to a 20 pound spring and you got FTE. I got the FedEx label from CZ. One of my rear sight white dots is missing too.

I also want to add that yes it was cleaned before firing. And the rails and the top of the barrel were lubed with a light coat of Mobil 1 wheel bearing grease (you can see in the pics of the slide).

I will probably try a lighter spring before I FedEx it back to CZ. It currently has the blue painted spring in it, which apparently is 20#.
