Trijicon RMR Mount, help please!!!
« on: September 14, 2015, 11:52:01 AM »
Disclaimer:  The following is about a non Tanfoglio but I would like to do the same thing for a Limited.

This may be a bit confusing so please note there are three pieces to this puzzle, 1. The RMR red dot   2. The middle picatinny adapter.  3. The pistol red dot mount.

So I purchased a Trijicon RMR red dot with picatinny mount and to my dismay it didn't fit on my scope mount.  The pistols red dot mount is a Weaver an the Trijicon is a Picatinny.  To make matters worse if I modified the picatinny adapter,   a small part of the red dot and the picatinny adapter will hang off of the scope mount making it less secure and fugly.

So my question is this, does anyone make a pistol red dot mount that is made specifically for the RMR?  By doing this you could bypass the middle piece that attached the RMR to the red dot mount and it would lessen the distance between the RMR and bore.

Thanks

Take your sight and slide and have them milled so the RMR is a direct fit to the slide.

Does the rail mount in the existing dovetail or is the slide drilled and tapped?

Existing dovetail in the rear has a wedge inserted that is pre-drilled and tapped and one hole drilled and tapped toward the front into the slide.
