Recommended springs for Compact to lighten DA pull?

Now that I have a couple thousand rounds through my stock Compact I am about ready to polish all internal mating surfaces.

I would really like to swap out springs at the same time. However, most of the info I've found is outdated or contradicts each other.


I am ok with getting rid of the firing pin safety but I think I can polish surfaces without having to purchase the CGW kit

I run 13# hammer springs in all My CZ's.  I have never had a problem with light strikes.

I'm running the 13# hammer spring with the extended firing pin and RPFPS. I'm using a 14# recoil spring. Also the CGW trigger pin and reduced power trigger spring. This is on both my P01 and Compact .40. I haven't tried the 11.5# HS since they are both in the carry rotation.

I'm running a 13 in my P-01 as well with an 11.5 arriving tomorrow. Current DA pull weight is 7.25-7.5 lbs. CGW pro carry parts and polished internals as well. Still have the fpb, I wouldn't take it out on a carry weapon.

CZ makes gun and gun product that work.  Do you really think you can improve what they build with aftermarket parts?  eg How do o know the +5% springs are 5% stronger than factory?  Because a company you know little about says they are +5% and what does the +5% do for you or the product?   
I think sometimes we get carried away with this notion that somehow you or your gun will benefit from all these changes.  Why not spen the money on range time and ammo where you might find some benefit.  Just sayiing.

Before you up-grade take instruction and learn how to shoot well

My response is directed towards people like myself that are new to this sport and "think" a new firearm has to be re-built before it's used. The advise given me has been to shoot a lot, enjoy, and get instruction.

This does not apply to seasoned shooters. No harm meant

Ah ok. I bought the CZ 75 specifically to tinker with. After building a couple of 1911s I'm just ready for something different.

Honestly I probably enjoy the 'tinkering' part of the hobby more than the shooting and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I still go through about 500rds a month between my pistols.

This will make your head spin, I actually like cleaning my guns!

I put in the Short reach or reduction reach trigger.  It also lowered the DA some do to the its design.  I should still be able to use the Kadet .22 conversion kit, since I didn't have to change the springs.

I too enjoy tinkering with my guns - it makes it a little more personal and I get a sense of accomplishment when it goes well. Nothing wrong with that at all in my opinion...

Bob, following your logic, the entire after market/performance auto parts industry is pointless. If you'd take the time to visit SEMA, I bet you'd find several thousand vendors and attendees with a different opinion. I spend plenty of my money on ammo and range time. That's how I know the aftermarket parts in my CZ work as promised. Just poking fun here, to each his own. I'm new to this hobby as well but everyone enters at a slightly different place on the curve. Tinkering isn't for everyone. However, I'm pretty good at it and would go insane without it.

Call David at CGW and let him set you straight. 

If you are going to tear into things and polish, I would at least go to the #13 mainspring, extended fireing pin, light FPB spring, short reset kit.

My P-01 is silky smooth due to following David's polishing instructions. I'd recommend that over replacing anything else in all honesty. That being said, I did add CGW firing pin retaining pin, CGW trigger spring, and floating trigger pin. Seemed like those parts broke the most on the CZs and I know CGWs are top notch quality. I wanted those for ease of mind over anything else. The polishing lightened up my trigger pull and made it much smoother. No grit.
