What rear sight height comes on a compact?

Short of me knocking out my rear sight, which sight is it supposed to be?

My compact had a #4 rear sight. Unfortunately you still need to drive out your rear sight and see what number is in it. Yours could be the same or it could be a #3 or a #5 or even something else. I would not consider ordering any replacement sights until you verify what is actually installed on your gun.

Why would that be would you suppose? I find such incredibly bizarre, and even ridiculous, as if the folks at Czub were like the Irish who designed the roads in St Paul MN!

No matter how precise a gun is manufactured they don't always hit the same point of aim so different height sights either front or rear are usually manufactured to compensate for differences in elevation. You can also dial your gun in for specific loads at specific distances as well. There is nothing bizarre or ridiculous about this. Why do you think adjustable sights or adjustable scopes and optics are manufactured?

I agree with Si Vis Pacem. My compact had a #3. They can all be different.

I have a 4.  My test target show impacts about an inch low at 25 m.  How much would swapping to a 5 raise my POI?

If you use calipers to measure the heights of your rear sights, and compare with those that have been driven out (where number is known), you can eventually have all the information for all variables.  That, or call CZ USA and ask.

We know, and most agree,  that its not the best system for finding the rear sight number by having to remove it, but it is worth in terms of saving time and money.  Now you know exactly what you have and what you need.

Are you going to add just a new rear sight or a complete new set?

I have the CGW front sight already... Unless there is a rear sight that works with an OEM front I will probably just go for the OEM.  Totally open to the idea of a new rear sight other than OEM

I like the OEM rear with the FO front, just wish the rear notch was a hair wider.
