extended magazine release

 I am considering purchasing a CZ P-01 compact. Is there an extended magazine release available for it? I was checking one out at a local gun shop and found it very hard to release the magazine as I have some stiffness in my right thumb. I could do it but only by rotating the gun quite a bit in my hand which would not be good if I were in a defensive situation. I think if the release button were about an 1/8 th inch taller I could work it ok.

The CZ P-01 (aluminum frame) has a reversible mag release rather than left side only like a CZ75B. Any of the Steel framed CZ75 variants with a reversible mag release will accept the extended mag release. I believe that the P-01 will allow the installation of the extended mag release but i have not tried it my self so i am not 100%. I would get confirmation that it will work before purchase. You can call CZ custom or maybe another forum member that has installed one will chime in.

You also have the option of decreeing the tension of the stock mag release by tweaking the mag release spring. Thin grips can also assist in reaching the mag release more easily.
