I have ordered the OEM rubber grips.  We will see how it goes.  I had given up and read ready to trade away, but yall have given me new hope. Unless an shadow or SP01 pops up then I will drop it like a hot potato.

Well I must say the grips made a great improvement. I can now hold on the gun with my off hand with out the gun camming up out of my grip.  My splits and times are about the same as with my PCR. (Bill drill) my group does start to open up a bit, but that should improve as my muscles get use to the .45. The problem I have now is ammo cost. I have never had shop and compared 45 ammo prices. That poo is expensive.

Excellent!!  Keep working with it until you get it perfect.

That .45 ammo is more expensive however, doesn't take many rounds to get the job done.  :D ;)

I don't know about that!  It seems to take a lot to take that evil paper down, and as soon as I get several good hits on it, it magically patches itself back up.

.45 ammo costs more, but it's also MUCH more fun to shoot!
I've had a similar experience to yours. Started with a 9mm CZ 75, still love it, it fits like a glove. But then got a 97BDE, from Schmeky, struggled a bit, got rubber grips, shot it a lot, and now I love it.
The 75 is still better fitting, but it's not as much fun to shoot and the 97 with rubber grips is very close, just gotta handle it more and get used to it. In fact, I got another 97B in glossy blue and sent it to Schmeky for work, now it's a 97BE SAO beauty and my favorite gun (still changed those cute wood grips for cheap rubber...).

It is a heavy pistol which takes getting used to. The overall grip is large and you may be better off with other grips installed. My 97 feels great in my hand and shoots more accurately  than I am able; I am content with the stock wood grips. OTOH, I have a 1911 in 9mm which I want to like but can't seem to get there.
Regardless of the grip you have on it, are your hands big enough to grip it comfortably?

I just jumped off the fence and ordered a CZ 97 BD.  Should be here in a few days.  Feels like Christmas is coming early this year!
