New Design CGW Barrel Bushing

I'm just repeating what I was told when I called and talked to Scott. I messaged him last night and he asked me to call this morning to get instructions on how to fit the barrel. When we talked he said there were some tolerance problems with some bushings that were linked to the manufacturer's tooling being worn. He insisted they be replaced rather than fitted.  I do understand tolerance stacking and I have completely satisfied with all my CGW parts and I will continue to use them. Again, this is not a complaint, I'm simply reporting what I have found and was told.

The bushing fit over the barrel without a problem. The problem was I couldn't even come close to getting the barrel dropped in to the slide

Thank you for the feedback. I think yours is the 2nd case of a .40 where the bushing is a little too tight. I too wouldn't mind a bit of fitting as you did there.

Thank you very much for the feedback.  And that "One Hole" group.  WOW.  For $60.00, that's not a bad investment.  I wanted to let the forum members know if there is any issue with the bushing, most of the time it is because the ID of the bushing is tight.  We decided to err on the side of the best accuracy, which means some very minor fitting may be required, just as SP01Shadow has indicated.  However, if there are any issues, CGW will take care of it, if needed, contact us for tech support or we will take in your slide and do the fitting at n/c.

Our new standard barrel CZ bushings are in.  They are beautiful, but we need to check each one for dimensional accuracy.  We should have them available the week of 3-7-16.  $60.00 each, just like the 7510X, and we hope to see some super tight groups with this one as well.  We also got in our new aluminum SAO straight triggers (about 200, with more on the way so no more "out of stock" problems).  Plus our new SSGR for the Tactical Sport and CZ-97 is in and it's a beauty.

I'm ready for a standard 75B 9mm bushing! 

I can deal with some hand fitting.  I actually hope I need to open it up a little to get the barrel in.  I also hope the lug are on my barrel to slide fit is good enough to see the advantage of the snug bushing.  I might just have to make a video of the install, LOL.

This gun did not have any indication of ever being fired so the barrel felt rough caused by the tiny machine marks along it's axis of the final machining. The piece of roll paper I used was an old strip I keep around just to polish with and was well worn so it removes only a minimum of metal but produces a nice polished look on any metal. I noticed on the pre-fit that the new 10-X bushing was grabbing against the top of the machined surface so I figured trying to install the barrel was going to be a problem even before it was. The metal removal on both the barrel and the bushing was very minimal at best but the tolerances on the 2 pieces  don't allow a rough surface at all. I am very happy with how the whole gun turned out. I turned it into a SAO and removed the FPB using the wide Shadow sear. Installed a 11.5# main spring, the CGW trigger return spring, CGW sights, Race hammer and their curved SAO trigger. I installed the CGW extended firing pin and widened the notch in the pin for a little extra forward movement into the breech face just in case. With the barrel and bushing polished the slide moves smoothly and through the 300 rounds the function was unencumbered by the tight fit. The best part, I didn't have to re-finish the gun! If I died today it would take a month to get the smile off my face.

This is a copy paste from a post I came across on another thread.   I think it makes a good case on why the 10x bushing would be USPSA Production Legal.  For myself I will wait until after the shooting season before I have David install a 10x bushing in my SP-01 Tactical slides.   That will give time for a DNROI ruling.  Plus I wait to do any major upgrades on my pistols during the off season. 


"D4 21.3 You are allowed to replace both the slide and the barrel with aftermarket products of the same length, contour and caliber.

D4 21 It is also on the Range Master to make the decision and bump you to open.

CZ parts diagrams does not list a bushing as a part, it lists the slide with the bushing installed as a single unit called "SLIDE". http://cz-usa.com/ha.../04/cz75_en.pdf

I can't find a SKU on a bushing from CZ USA or CZ Custom at all, as such it isn't a part. Installing some aftermarket thing on a slide that doesn't alter the contour or length simply makes it an aftermarket slide, which is allowed."

That sir,  is VERY nice!
Wish I could use one in my 9mm 75 Shadow and stay production class legal.  They've been loosening up the rules some lately,  so maybe next year, or the next or....

Wow, those are great groups!  Bushing is looking great.  I never had high hopes for my 9mm 75B slide.  Starting to get a little hopeful and am anxious to try the bushing.

I installed the 10x bushing in my SP-01 tonight. Went right in with no problems. The barrel still dropped in easily but appears not to be any gap around the barrel as it did with the factory bushing. Is that normal for the barrel to drop right in?

Just got a 10x bushing for a 75BD in the mail, with a whole lot of other goodies. Weatherman says rain, so guess I'll just have to hang out in the shop instead! Fast delivery by the way!!
