Great idea at a great price, but it's not production legal.

The accu shadow production legal is...

Why would it not be legal? If it is assembled the same as OEM, looks the same as OEM who will say it's not OEM? Same as if you change springs, mag brake, sear, hammer, etc. Just curious?

So either you aren't familiar with uspsa production modification rules, or you're condoning cheating... Just curious?

ID,  there was a post that discussed this somewhere.  I couldn't find it.

I 'think' what  mszvetecz said  and/or  "is the peanut hole cut the same in the 40 cal. for the slide release position on the Shadow?"

Painter is correct with his statement, I am not familiar with USPSA rules. I don't do the competition scene (not my gig). As for condoning cheating.........no I do not. IMHO my idea of production is something bone stock, that and $.50  you'll have $.50. When I was in the Marine Corps our intramural matches were conducted using stock rifles off the rack, you didn't get to use any "match grade" rifle until you got to intraservice matches. So if you replace all internal parts to enhance trigger weight, reset, smoothness, speed, feeding, extraction, ejection, etc. to take the best advantage of a design is one cheating? I'm sure according to the rule book one is not, but it isn't really "production" either. You want to see who the best marksman is just pull XX#amount of guns off of the production line of any given brand and competitors use the guns and see who is better. I vote for Hi Point 😜

Rhino,  In principal I agree with you completely.  In practice,  USPSA is the most fun you can have with all your clothes...
Give it a try,  you'll be surprised and suffer another addiction. O0

IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation) competition is the world-wide originator of this basic game.  'We' in the USA added all the variations allowed from stock pistols and named it United States Practical Shooting Assoc..  Like Military regs,  "will", "shall", "may" and "must" are common in USPSA rules.

The CZ SPO1s and Shadows are big in both IPSC and USPSA in their division-authorized "Tuned" condition.

I want everyone to know our intent with this new part is to improve the performance of the CZ design for a reasonable cost.  We always point out to all our customers the legality of any/all of our parts.

We mounted one in a customers Shadow slide today.  This customer has an Accu-Shadow and we built his other Shadow with our 10X bushing.  This customer will do an accuracy comparison and we can't wait!!

Observations:

* Bushing installs easily and fits exactly where the OEM bushing was
* Lock-up is fantastic
* Barrel removes easily, we found the ideal taper, length, and generous bearing support for this bushing (no easy feat)
* Heat treat is right where it needs to be = long life

Bad news:

The first 300 we received were not perfect.  We are having to do some secondary machine work to get them where they have to be = some delay.  We will be fitting some more bushings in the next 3-4 weeks.  We will be working to get our first order dead on before we begin offering these on our website, which will be very soon.

If I had to guess, I would think this would be due to variances in the barrels more than the bushings.

Typical CZ, each is a bit unique, and trying to build one size fits all parts is not an easy task as there must be normal or minimum clearances for things to work.

Keep up the good work! O0

Schmeky,
That's because a Fireman didn't design it.....😉

wdbutcher,

You have a good eye.  We sent out quite a few of this bushing design for the Canik's to monitor the results.  We have had -0- issues (I'll take luck over skill any day).  The CGW Canik bushings were a tight fit on the barrel OD, but it's an even tighter fit for the CGW/CZ bushing.

We took advantage of the extra barrel length that protrudes out of the slide for the CZ bushing.  And yes, it does indeed protect the crown.
schmeky, do you know when you'll have the #36220 Canik barrel bushing back in stock?
