New Design CGW Barrel Bushing

I have one coming. I wanted to post up how i removed my OEM barrel bushing. Maybe it will help someone else.

I found that a 1/4" 7/16's socket would fit inside the slide, and it was also large enough to engage the barrel bushing.

Then, i used a length of 10-24 rod stock, a few nuts and fender washers, and my slide hammer weight. I wrapped a little tape on the threads going through the slide and bushing, just in case.....

Then, just holding the slide in my and and letting the weight drop, the bushing came out within 6 drops....

Also, before i pulled the factory bushing, i made a center mark with an awl in the center of the U notch for the sight, Just in case i ever need to re install the old one.

I have pics, once i figure out how to post them, i will attach them to the thread.

I guess the easiest method would be remove the front sight pin, and the front sight, and then fire a few shots on a large target. The bushing should fly out. Many forum members have been successful in getting rid of the bushing that way, although unintentionally-they just shot the pistol without the reinstalling the front sight pin after changing the front sight.

I'm pretty sure the bushing would stay in place if you "intended" to shoot it out. Murphy works that way. . . [emoji6]

Awesome......

I just got done installing mine this morning. I did not have time to chill in the freezer, but I have access to dry ice. I shrank the bushing in a solution of kerosene and dry ice for 30 minutes and the bushing literally fell in place. Pleased with my results, I went for coffee. I forgot to check the slot alignment..... Well, guess I will be either pulling it out and clocking the bushing appropriately, or re drilling the darn slot.

I really should not work on things before my AM coffee I guess.....

I pulled it back out with the slide hammer. Will have to wait until after work to re fit.

I was a little too excited and wanted to check fit and lockup before work. Guess I should have waited until I could take my time. Will re shrink and fit again. Measuring the cross pin slot, it is approximately 8mm long. I scribed a line @ 4mm on the bushing to REMIND myself to line up the notch dummy~!

I just went to CGW website and the only 10X bushing available is for a SP-01 for .40 cal.  When will you have more 9mm?  Also does this bushing fit on the P01?
