Trying to date a Jericho 941 which is a new purchase
« on: November 27, 2015, 04:54:01 PM »
I just purchased an "aged" Jericho 941 and am trying to determine its "date of birth".  I contacted IWI in Harrisburg and they told me that since the gun was manufactured by IMI, they could not help me.

The serial number is 0101xx and it is marked "KBI Harrisburg PA".  Know that KBI started importing Jericho's in 1990, my guess would be that the gun was probably manufactured in 1990 or 1991.

Does anyone have some new thoughts.  Thanks in advance for your help.

That is odd they could not help.  After KBI imported the 941F, starting in 1990, sometime later Uzi America (subsidiary of O.F. Mossberg & Sons) began importing the design as Uzi Eagle. If you can find that date it will at least create a window for you.

My guess on the 1990-1991 timeline is simply based on the serial number.  Assuming that IMI started with "0" as the first serial number and I am in the 10,000 range, I could only assume that it was the first year or so of production.

Does that make sense?

Your guess as good as mine (or anyone else) without any further info.

According to IWI's website, the Israeli government spun them off of IMI in 2005.
