I've never heard of P01's with factory night sights. Unless the older ones had the glow in the dark paint.

I just bought a P-01 and the sights are neither night or glow ones.  In fact looking to replace sights soon once I find a competent gunsmith

Looking for a SP-01 Tactical as well

For some reason I thought the P01 used to come with night sights. I went to the local shop and handled a few CZs. They had a SP01 Tactical in 40, 75bd, 75sao, and 75 PCR. They all felt good. I really liked the SP01. The upswept beaver was an improvement over the 75bd although I like the balance of the 75bd slightly better. After feeling the SP01 I am thinking I might like the P01 better though. With an 18 round mag I might need battle suspenders for my belt. It's a tank. I am doing some research on the CGW defensive model P01. Thank you for the replys.

My 2012 P01 came with night sights, my OD 2015 didn't.

Thanks Wahoo. That's the first one I remember hearing about. Wonder if it was one of those special packages they put together for dealers.

I'd bet it was some kind of distributor package. I ordered it through a shop in Houston called Spectre firearms, if I recall he got it from Davidson's.

I would go with the P01 over the full size just because it fits my hands a little better. All of my CZ have run flawlessly so reliability doesn't really play into the decision.

I own both, the sp01 is my home defense and my p01 is my daily carry. It's more comfortable for ccw carry. Both are amazing. I want to put a cz85 trigger in it.

I am struggling with this decision because I want a go too hand gun. I already have a 100% reliable Canik CZ light weight compact clone so the SP-01 makes sense but I am a little worried it will be too heavy. The only time it would be carried would be training with a duty belt but it's still heavy for a rifle back up. I don't believe I can go wrong and can always get the other one later. I'm starting to lean toward the PO1 because I already have 4 Mecgar compact magazines and it would be a better all around gun.
I would have to add night sights. Would it be better to get the gun and remove the factory sights too see what # they are or order the PO1 Meprolight sights from Optical planet? Are there other options for night sights for the factory slide cut?

I would wait and see where your POA vs. POI sits. That way you can adjust size if needed to fit your preferred sight picture.
XS makes the big dot for the CZ. Not sure on others.

Sp 01 has a "phantom" version that is a little lighter, I believe. I have both PCR and Sp 01, they shoot great. The PCR is somewhat easier to conceal. Both shoot to point of aim for me. I have a friend with Po 1 and it is almost the same as the PCR, shoots close but not quite as tight groups, front end is a hair bulkier but that is due to rail. Any of the three would be fine. Get the trigger job if ou can afford it. Ghost holster did mine and my friends, Night and day from my 75BD. Good Luck, John

Thanks again. I went by my local CZ dealer again and they said there was a model # for the P01 with factory night sights but it was unavailable for at least 2-3 years so it is most likely out of production. I handled PCR, 75b, and 75 SAO again. The 75b balance is better than the SP01 to me. I think I might keep my HK with a weapon light for the house and just buy a 75b for the range and owb holster carry some times. At least they are all available.

I love my P-01, pretty much perfect for me. Really is a great carry weapon. I have a P-07 duty, accurate and slightly quicker for me on follow up shots. It pretty much lives in the safe, don't like it for carry. I recently picked up a tuned P-09 and like it a lot. A couple days ago I acquired a lightly used P-06. Not my caliber, but it was a good deal to back up my 01. Like you I want a full size for range use and just because. I much prefer the up-swept beaver tail. That has me thinking 75 SAO. Don't think I'd carry it though as all my pistols have a decocker.
