Thank you for replying. I was thinking of the extra testing the PO1 went threw mentioned on the CZ web site among other places. I was wanting to know if the P01 was an improvement over the SP01.
As I understand it, which leaves a large margin for error, the P-01 came first; 3 years in development, extensive and elaborate testing for the customer, and then it got an NSN which means not much since the crappy socks I bought at the BX have an NSN. But the testing for the customer that requested it was really what made it what it is. Then the SP-01 was developed after, using much of the design development that came out of the P-01 product development, but the SP-01 was not subjected to the same rigors; its assumed it would be up to it.
FWIW, I only have a P-01 right now, my first CZ (unless you count Baby Eagles) but I've used alot of service duty handguns both professionally and recreationally, and its replaced other more expensive guns as the go-to. I still want a full size all steel, but its not because I feel the P-01 comes up short in any way.
