Engage safety at half cock?
« on: December 17, 2015, 05:04:54 PM »
On my 75b compact I can engage the safety at half cock. It is supposedly all factory stock.

Anyone else experience this?

Thanks

Mine won't engage unless at full cock.

Generally a factory CZ pistol will not allow you to engage the safety lever while the hammer is at half cock. I have seen a few exceptions. It is nothing to worry about as long as the safety functions correctly while the hammer is fully cocked. It is also a good idea to avoid pulling the trigger with the safety engaged while the hammer is at half cock.

Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

Glad to see you have seen exceptions. I thought it was weird.
Thanks

I'd be contacting the factory.  For some, not being able to engage the safety while in DA mode is a major fearure of the system when used for self defense!  Does the safety pop off when the hammer is then pulled back?  Oops no shot -- could be dead!

The Safety on my B-SA will engage with the Hammer in Half-Cock    8)
But get this:
The Hammer will drop from the Half Cocked Notch with an easy pull of the Trigger    :o
So tell me again how Trump was worse then the 8 years before .... AND what's coming after HIM !

Nothing like a nice crisp break off the halfkcock.  8)

Surely this not a good, right.  Perhaps I'm having a difficult time reading sarcasm...

The 75B safety should only be engaged at full cocked position.  Stacking tolerances may find some that will engage at half cock,  but if could cause excessive wear.  The manual used to instruct "only engage the safety in the fully cocked position".  I'd check your manual.

Not good, but not that bad really
As long as the Trigger doesn't drop with the Safety ON, it's all good
Never use the Half Cocked Notch myself
Find it odd to have it on a Single Action / Firing Pin Blocked Pistol anyway
I can see it on an SA without the FPB

Indeed my 75B Matte Stainless ONLY allows for safety engagement at full cock position.  Whew!  I think this is the way I prefer it.  Sure training can overcome just about anything, but I've seen a-many folk somewhat experienced with Beretta's "FS" forget to flip off "up" the safety lever on their Safety/Decocker!  DEAD

I must admit that I also "drop" the hammer all the way down to FP Block vs. the half-cock notch for DA carry, but had to check anyway!

Is this phenomenon a result of folks monkeying with their guns for target shooting?
