P-01 with 10 round mag, looking for base pad for grip extension

Hello everyone!
First post on this board.
I recently purchased the p-01 in California and the 10 rd compact mags don't quite have the same grip extension I'm looking for that comes standard on the 14 rd mags. 
Does anyone know the best way to get a 10 rd California legal mag and get that basepad? I read on one of the posts where someone said to get a mecgar 10 rd full size mag and put the sp-01 basepad for a flush fit, can anyone confirm this or post a pic?

I used this mag base pad.

I got mine from Greg Cote LLC because I bundled a couple of Mec-Gar magazines with my order, but they're all available at lots of sites.
