97B Spring Suggestions Please
« on: December 19, 2015, 09:33:12 PM »
Hello Fellow CZ 97 Lovers,

I just picked up a used glossy blue 97B and want to do some tuning to it prior to shooting it again (I had some issues but think I have them resolved).

I'm looking at changing the following:

Reduced Power Firing Pin Block spring
Reduced Power Firing Pin spring
Reduced Power hammer spring

When using the reduced power firing pin spring, I have been told I need to run a reduced power hammer spring so I don't pierce the primers.  I'm on CGW's website and see 15#, 13# and 11.5#.  Any suggestions on which one to choose?  Also looking for recommendations on the recoil spring weight while I'm at it (I shoot 230 Gr. FMJ Factory stuff).

While I'm tweaking it...anyone know if the SP-01 Shadow slide release and paddle safety will work on the 97?

Thanks!

I'm curious why you want to change to the reduced power firing pin spring? and the reduced power firing pin block spring?

What are you after in the modification?

I think you can run the 15lb main spring (hammer spring) with the stock firing pin/spring.  Anything lower than 15 lb with the stock firing pin and you may not get 100% ignition.

If your after a lighter dual action trigger pull then this is what you need:  http://cajungunworks.com/product/54420-double-action-ultra-lite-kit/

It will drop the DA trigger pull weight and maintain 100% ignition.

Cheers,
Toby
