Good bye Old friend
« on: December 20, 2015, 06:05:13 AM »
I sold my trusty old GLOCK 19 to a friend yesterday. It was replaced by a P-07.
This was not an overnight decision. I burned up 800 rounds thru the 07 testing her out, and ran drills back to back including just about every Instructor Zero type shiznit possible.... and did all of this under sweaty hot stress induced Florida weather.
I'm a lefty and the slide release just works so much better for my trigger finger than even the Ghost forward release on the Glock. The Magazine release on the 07 has a 45 degree angle to it that is perfect for lefty's to operate with the trigger finger. Thats 2 for the 07. Finally grip angle and natural point and shoot comparison stole the day.
No malfunctions of any type with 7 manufacturers of ammo used. 115,124 and 147 weights. Hollow points Speer Gold dots, Federal HST various grains, and Win Ranger T all run flawless.
Just a note, I have carried a Glock 17 or 19 for the past 4 years and have 14k combined rounds thru them in that time. I have nothing against Glocks, I just found something that works better For Me.
 Thanks CZ and goodbye Glock.

The CZ is a much better gun IMO. I carried the Glock 19 for quite some time, I replaced it with a full size CZ-75 B and have not regretted it. It is inherently more accurate than the Glock, more ergonomic, points better, all around a better pistol.

Same route for me OP. I replaced a G19 with the P07 as well for all the same reasons.

Well, I still have the G19 Gen 4 with Storm Lake barrel and some trigger work. But straight out of the box the P07 is a better gun in my eyes. Points better, feels better, and performs just as good. The only thing the G19 has over the P07 is simplicity.  I can have the Glock fully disassembled in a matter or minutes. I probably will keep the G19 around but the P07 is pretty awesome and will see more shooting time!  ;)

I still have a box full of Glocks. Mostly because there are three GSSF matches fairly close to me and a few friends and I enjoy shooting them and I have won some guns, money and swag.

However while I would not turn anyone away from buying a dependable Glock, they are not half the gun a CZ is.

I have or had CZ85, SP-01, P-07,P-09 and P-02. Amazingly good guns, every one of them. Very underrated mostly because I never see one in a store and routinely run into people who are completely unaware of the CZ brand.

Yeah, but it's a lot easier chasing spent brass with the G19 since so much of it bounces off my face and lands at my feet.

If I'd gone straight from Glock to CZ I could have had four more CZs instead of two XDMs and two M&Ps.

I wish I'd found the CZ's several years ago.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

I hate the way glocks point. To me they point like the end of a baseball bat.

Still have my old Glock 17. It has after market trigger bar and recoil spring.  Perhaps the only thing the Glock might do better than my P-07 is super-rapid-fire spray&pray.

But I don't like to shoot that way, and if I did, I could practice it with the P-07 and probably become just as fast...and just as inaccurate too!

Although I guess the only way to get better at rapid fire is to fire rapidly.

I guaranteed you that the P-07 can be just as inaccurate as any pistol out there under the rite circumstances.  ;D

Tok36, Yeah one thing hunting has taught me is that if you get in too much of a hurry --you will shoot like a Chicago cop no matter what gun you use!--Hit everything but your target!
