Problems With Running CZ75 Mags in P07?
« on: December 27, 2015, 02:06:10 AM »
Can anyone forsee if there would be problems running CZ 75 mags in a P07?  I know they will fit, but fit looser, so I'm concerned they might misfeed or cause wear to the mag catch (or something else).  Was kind of planning on using CZ75 or P01 mags for range mags since they are a lot cheaper than P07 mags.

I took 2 CZ75 mags with me last week and ran them at the range for testing purposes in my 07. They ran flawless with bolt hold open on last shot every time. No issues feeding or chambering 1st round when completely full. There is just a touch of looseness side to side, but I have other 9mm with more that use the correct mags made for them.
IMO these are fine for range or back up use during the Zombie Apocalis.  ;)
In fact I ordered 2 19 round and 2 17 round CZ75 mags on sale for less than 2 07 mags would cost.
I doubt the mag will cause wear to the mag catch as it is locked in completely and not made of soft metal.
These are my results and opinion......others may not agree.
Have a good un.

I have used standard 75 mags in my P-07 without issue and as everyone has noted they do have more side to side movement. Will they cause wear? I would say eventually they could but it would likely not be something you would see for thousands of rounds and I would expect most of the wear would be to the catch window in the mag since it would be the softer part. For defensive purposes I would stick with the proper mags though.

Are you guys using the 75 mags in a first or second gen p07? Someone said the 75 mags fit better in the older version. Is there much of a gap at the bottom?

I have used the CZ 75 magazines in my newer P-07 and they worked fine. Fed well and locked back on last round.

They do have a gap and can be wiggled in the magwell but are not sloppy. Maybe 1/16" of play.

Expensive magazines are the only downside to the P-07/P-09 in my opinion. :(

I have the p-07 in 40 cal, would the CZ75 40 cal mags still work just like you are saying they do in the 9mm?

They have slop in the newer version but are pretty snug in the Duty 07. These are 9's. Friends don't let friends shoot 40.  ;D

That's funny!  I already have the 40 & am looking for mag alternatives. Sounds like not a real good idea with the new version P-07. Thanks for the input.
