PCR recoil spring weight
« on: December 30, 2015, 04:44:52 AM »
Howdy!

So I have about 1000 rounds through my PCR (it has the lighter hammer spring and whatnot to reduce trigger weight) and really feel that the recoil impulse could be improved,as it is far less controllable than my sr9c or *gag* Taurus.

Upon firing, the front sight goes up, then as it goes back down, it wiggles around like a stuck fish.  It's not a grip issue, no matter how tight I squeeze the gun recoils in my hand-meat and shakes around, making me have to wait an extra tenth of a second between shots for the front sight to settle.

I've had folks recommend a lighter and heavier recoil spring, but Cajun gun works says leave it alone.  What to do?

What ammo are you using?  Obviously you have spoken to CGW and they felt there was no reason to replace the spring based on what you told them yes? If that is the case I would leave it alone. Typically you want the spent casings to land around 6-8 feet from your firing position this tells you the recoil spring is a good match for the gun and ammo combination. You need to practice more with the gun or you could try lighter ammo and tune the recoil spring for it. Does the gun have factory rubber grips or have they been changed? I run the factory spring and rubber grips in my PCR and find it a pleasure to shoot with 115, 124, and 147 grain ammo in it's current configuration.

I have installed the factory wood grips, and thoroughly like them.  The issue was present with the rubber grips as well.
