CZ 2075 RAMI BD for Concealed Carry?
« on: January 04, 2016, 04:39:05 PM »
I've been carrying a Kahr PM9 concealed for 5 years now. It's light, I shoot it well, and it carries phenomenally. My only gripe about it is that it only holds 6+1, and I'm not a fan of carrying an extra magazine as I've already got limited pocket space. Now that it's cold out, and heavier clothing has become the norm, I have been tossing around the idea of picking up a RAMI BD as a "cold weather carry". The extra 4 rounds being my justification, but if I'm being completely honest, I really just have that itch to buy a new gun, and I've become quite the CZ fanboy over the years (currently own 4). So I'd love to add another CZ to my gun safe.

My question for those of you with RAMIs as well as other carry options. How often do you actually carry your RAMI? My fear is that I'll buy the RAMI for carry, but end up carrying my PM9 over it the majority of the time. I've watched pretty much every video there is on Youtube about the RAMI for carry, and everyone seems to choose lighter/smaller polymer framed pistols over it every time. Is it really just a niche gun? Or do you guys choose to carry it over your other carry options on a regular basis?

My Rami is my only carry at this time. An IWB holster and good belt and I can carry in summer with shorts and a tank top.

Not my only option but me too.

I carry my RAMI BD whenever I go out or travel.  It is a little heavy unless you have a very firm belt (i.e.: 1/4 inch thick) and a good OWB holster.  I use a Wright Leather Works belt and cross draw holster most of the time, but also leather DeSantis holster for the four o'clock position.  I use the cross draw whenever I am driving, because it is much easier to get past the seatbelt.  The RAMI will fit into the front blue jeans (wrangler) pocket with a nylon pocket holster, but it is difficult to get it out of the pocket.  Some kakai pants have deeper and wider pockets and make it a bit easier.  But, none of this works very well in very hot weather, and I may revert to a Ruger LCR snubby for those days.  Hope this helps.  Also, the RAMI is very accurate and dependable, just as much so as my CZ P-01.

A Rami BD is my EDC also.  But you should apologize for only giving it 10 rounds.  It eats up the 14 rounds mags very nicely.  And it is still easy to carry with the extended magazine.  If you can find one you should grab it.

I carry mine daily, hot or cold. I am actually considering a larger framed gun for colder months.  I conceal it okay during the summer times and 0 printing in the winter time.

Like others have mentioned, a good holster and firm belt will do wonders for you.  I highly recommend the Wright Leather Works company.

Since I sold the P-07, it is my only carry in warm weather. I have gone back to carrying my PCR & P-01 in cooler weather. I had a PPS but sold it and purchased the RAMI BD. Now that Walther came out with the PPS M2, I will have to look into it to see if the grip and trigger improved.

Just to update this thread, I ended up finding a gun shop in town that had a PCR and a RAMI in stock. I fondled them both side by side (after never having handled either of them) and to my surprise the PCR wasn't much bigger than the RAMI, but felt considerably better in my hands. I do really like the RAMI, but ended up buying the PCR.

I have a PCR and a CZ Custom Protek 1.  The PCR is a great choice.  The little extra sight radius makes it a more accurate gun for me.  But the Rami is handy when I am dressed for warmer weather.  Just depends on your attire and habits.

you NEEEED both, trust me.  My 2nd PCR came in this week.  My oldest daughter took the other to TX with her.  I rotate carry between the Rami, a Mod 2 .45 and the PCR will be added to the rotation.  I shoot them about the same so I'm not worried about having to remember to make "corrections" from one gun to the next.  I tell ya, though, it's hard to beat the S'field Mod 2 .45 package, though.  35rds with the Rami, 40rds with the Mod 2 and 43rds with the PCR.  I'd say that all offer plenty of firepower.  I need to get two more extended mags for the Rami.  I prefer to carry it with the 14 rounders vs. the 10 rounders.
PTC, but Pine Mtn will always be home.
